Sci-Fi UK secure Dollhouse season 2 and Legend Of The Seeker

Thursday 2 July 2009

Not unexpectedly, The Sci Fi Channel has secured the rights to the second season of Dollhouse. The first season is currently airing every Tuesday @9pm, and the channel have confirmed their plan to show the thirteenth episode (specially created for the DVD), too.

Jon Farrar, programming director for NBC Universal Global Networks UK:

"We're thrilled to offer our audience not only all 13 episodes of the first season but also confirmation that Sci Fi has the season two premiere already lined up for later in the year. Dollhouse has become a cult hit in the UK and is one of the most talked about and successful show launches of 2009. We've been relentless in our quest to bring the most entertaining, exciting and in-demand programming to our viewers and Dollhouse has ticked all those boxes and many more."

The channel will also start showing Legend Of The Seeker, the fantasy-drama from producer Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) about a woodsman who must thwart an evil emperor, based on a series of books by Terry Goodkind. The first two seasons have been secured by the broadcaster, who will start showing episodes from 13 August.

Charlotte Ashton, VP of programming and marketing at NBC Universal Global Networks UK:

"Legend of the Seeker is yet another exciting addition to the channel's summer primetime schedule. The sword-n-sorcery sub-genre has a worthy new hero in Legend of The Seeker, which we expect the UK audience to fully embrace."
